Hero This Week: Taylor Sang

Hero this week: Taylor Sang
Junior, pledge class 2009

I nominate Taylor Sang as our Hero of the Week. She has obviously shown her dedication to Alpha Delta Pi and to the members of our chapter. Taylor is an amazing representative of our sorority in the classroom, on the campus, and in the Bowling Green and Louisville communities. Whether she is entering and placing in pageants, serving as our panhellenic delegate, or just keeping up the general morale of our chapter, Taylor is a vital member of our sisterhood. She is not only a beautiful individual, but she is kind, caring, and so compassionate. She steps in when no one else will, and although it may seem like sometimes those contributions go unnoticed or unrecognized, she truly does inspire me and countless sisters to take opportunities to give back to ADPi, and I strive to be as genuine of a sister as Taylor is.

Hero This Week: Allyson Hart

Hero This Week: Allyson Hart
Junior, Pledge Class 2009

Allyson Hart is a hero in my eyes. She is one of the most selfless individuals I know and strives to be a strong, Christian woman every day. This past semester was extremely hard for me in all aspects and one person that was constantly there for me, no matter what, was Allyson. She never left my side, even if that meant hearing me vent for an hour about a petty, unimportant topic. We've only been really close for about a year and a half now, and our friendship is as strong as ever. She not only is an amazing friend, but an amazing sister. Allyson does so much for our sisterhood and sometimes doesn't get the credit that is deserved. Allyson is a very devoted and committed person, whether it be for ADPi or the gentlemen of AGR, whom she is sweetheart for. If you haven't had the pleasure of spending time with Allyson, I encourage everyone to do so. She is a bright, bubbly woman with a lot of heart and a contagious laugh. Everyday she amazes me with her kindness and love and I strive to be like her on a daily basis. Allyson truly is a life saver and I don't know where I'd be today if I didn't have her in my life.

Hero This Week: Bennett Peck

Hero this week: Bennett Peck
Freshman, Pledge Class 2011

I’d like to nominate Bennett Peck as the Hero of the Week. Ever since taking office a couple months ago, she has worked whole-heartedly each and every day to better the philanthropic aspect of our chapter. I think everyone in the chapter can agree that she has taken extraordinary leaps of faith, even as a freshman, and will continue to do amazing things for Epsilon Delta. As philanthropy chair she lives out our creed each day as she approaches every task she undertakes with humility and does not lose focus of the purpose our philanthropy serves to the Ronald McDonald House and to our Bowling Green community. Bennett Peck is a selfless, beautiful, and driven young woman who should be admired. (Oh, and the pageant this week is gonna be rockin’!)

Hero This Week: Heidi Smith

Hero this week: Heidi Smith
Junior, Pledge Class 2009

I would like to nominate Heidi Smith for hero of the week.  Heidi is an outstanding example of what an ADPi girl should be and stands for.  I can honestly say I have never met a stronger, more driven, self-confident women as herself. I admire Heidi for everything she stands for and how she shines each and every day. She is such a great role model and I look up to her more than she will ever realize.  I joined Alpha Delta Pi in search for a truly meaningful sisterhood, to create bonds and memories that would last a lifetime.  After meeting Heidi, I found exactly what I was looking for. She is my rock. I know she will always be there through both the good and the bad helping me to become a better person. I am beyond honored and blessed to of grown so close to  such an amazing sister. You truly are beautiful inside and out.

I would love to nominate Lilly Davis for our Hero of the Week. Lilly is the epitome of a woman living out her faith and sisterhood. Whether she is making a joke, speaking tender words of encouragement or giving reassuring hugs, she always puts me at ease. Her humble dedication to her sisters and her duties is steadfast and often unnoticed, but I strive to be as selfless as her. Her nurturing nature and positivity make her a sister to be admired. I would like to nominate Jenna Berthelot for Hero of the week. Her massive amounts of love, guidance, and selflessness are traits that I admire and try to pass on daily. She is my shoulder to cry on, my audience for stories, my accountability partner, my ride home on most weekends, and my best friend. Hero This Week: Rachel Huffman & Jenna Rousey

"I can barely even begin to tell you how much you touch my soul, raise my hopes, and inspire my smiles. Maybe the best way to convey it is to lovingly try and say that you've always been and you will always be just like a sister to me."

When I sat down to write about you two, these words from Emilia Larson resonated with me. I have always heard that you can look up to those who are younger than you but I had never experienced that until now. Even though we have only know each other for a few months you all have become some of my best friends and have a special place in my heart. I have been so excited to be a big sister and I am blessed and honored beyond belief to call you both my precious diamond sisters. Jenna, thank you for giving into my obsession with bargain shopping, being spontaneous with me, and for always bringing me soup and a laugh when I am sick. Rachel, Thank you for understanding my sarcasm and sense of humor, being silly and making Facebook videos together and for giving me a shoulder to cry on when I need it most. Remember you can be Forest, I will be Bubba and we can sit back to back so neither of us has to sleep in the mud. Thank you both for being there for me, lifting me up and and for encouraging me when all I wanted to do was break down. You both have touched my life and I can only hope I can make an impact on yours.

I love you lil Rousey and lil Huffbaby and don't you ever forget it!

Your Diamond Sister,
Mary-Ava Poole sophomore Pledge Class 2010
